What else should we ask for in prayer? Eph 3:14-19

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (‭Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭14-19‬ NKJV)

Earlier, we saw how the Apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesians in Eph 1:17-21. It did not end there. He continues his supplication for them. From Ephesians 3:14-19, he bowed in prayer asking for the following 3 things for the Ephesian Christians:

  1. that God would grant them…to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,
  2. that Christ may dwell in their hearts through faith;
  3. that they…..may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Are these what we ask for in prayer as well? Let us learn to turn our prayers from “petitions for earthly outcomes” to supplications of heavenly desires, that our minds may be set on things above and not things on the earth. May God teach us how to pray.
