And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to King Jehoshaphat, “Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord ? Therefore the wrath of the Lord is upon you. 2 Chr 19:2
“Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Therefore the wrath of the Lord is upon you.” These words were spoken to Jehoshaphat for associating himself with Ahab and helping him.
For some reason, Jehoshaphat seemed to have a practice of having alliances with wicked people. In 2 Chr 20:17, Eliezer prophesied against him similarly “Because you have allied yourself with Ahaziah, the Lord has destroyed your works.”
It is clear. God is not pleased when we associate ourselves with wicked people. He will judge us if we continue to do so, as He did Jehoshaphat.
Let us be careful as to who we associate ourselves with, lest the wrath of the Lord be upon us.
