2 Chro 26:12 – “…his heart was lifted up..”

But when he was strong his heart was lifted up, to his destruction, for he transgressed against the Lord his God by entering the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense.  2 Chr 26:16

God hates pride. God hates even a haughty look (Pro 21:4). God delights in His people when they understand their unworthiness and express their total dependence upon God and God alone.

King Uzziah was strong and he became proud as a result of that. Would it have been better if he was not strong so that his heart did not have the opportunity to be lifted up? Sometimes, we may wonder why we do not prosper the way others do. This may well be because God knew that we will not be able to manage the effects of prosperity and it becomes snare to us. Hence, He spared us and did not let prosperity become a snare to us.

This is a reminder that we ought to be grateful for whatever situation or lot that the Lord has designed or given to us according to His infinite wisdom.
